7 years ago, when we launched Seraf restaurant in Mahmutbey, although we were quite far from the city center, our dream was to create a place where food enthusiasts could enjoy the most authentic flavors of Anatolian cuisine in a pleasant and comfortable environment. Six years after envisioning this dream, Seraf Mahmutbey has been recommended by 2023 Istanbul Michelin Guide. Ever since, we strive to provide fresher, more unique, and more delicious food, along with improved service. The materials used in Seraf always prioritize your health.
We offer new harvests, fresh vegetables, the best meats from animals raised in their natural environment, the unique flavors of Anatolian / Turkish cuisine, which we collect from the field and bring from the region, and come to life in the skillful hands of our master chef.

At SERAF, we try to cook dishes that were cooked in the kitchens of Anatolian civilizations while staying true to their original form. This is not an easy task, and it’s almost impossible to do it at home. For example, the original lahmacun is made from meat that is ground with armor, but how many homes have armor to grind the meat? Or how many people can get the artichokes from the best field in Urla during the season when they are at their best?
